You need to get to the starting point by transport from the direction of Peja (30 min transfer).
The beginning of the trail is in the immediate vicinity of the police border checkpoint, at an altitude of 1269 m.a.s.l., where the info board Via Dinarica and a signpost are located. You will find a mountain lodge there that can be used as a shelter. From this point you must concentrate because the markings are difficult to see and the trail continues straight along the hill. Leading to the left and going to the steep edge of the valley that descends from above, the trail continues on the right side of the valley and although it is marked, the markings are placed parallel to the trail and are difficult to spot. Following the right side of the valley up to 1900 m.a.s.l., the trail descends into the valley. You should pay attention to the descent because the trail is steep until you reach the centre of the valley, which you will follow uphill. Then the orientation becomes easier and the trail is more visible.
When you reach the top of the valley there is a saddle at an altitude of 2160 m.a.s.l. where you concentrate and turn left. Even if a marked turn is difficult to see, 200 meters after the turn on the left there is a signpost that separates the path to the top and to the continuation of the route. If you decide to go to the top of the Rusulija Mountain, 2381 m.a.s.l. it should be calculated that to the top and back it takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. It is easy to reach the top where you will get a well-deserved award because from the top of Rusolija there is a beautiful view of the whole of Kosovo and thus it is one of the best views.
On the way back from the top, follow the same path to the signpost and then continue towards the end of the circus on the left, which later turns slightly to the right to the very edge of a small ridge where you will cross the border and find yourself on the Montenegrin side from where you can see the Ahmica and Hajla mountains. From the saddle, a well-visible trail descends to the left and follows the line separating the plateau on the left, where there are wooden lodges, and on the right, the valley continues towards the future ski resort, which you can see. In case you want to shorten your daily tour (because there is another 4 hours walk to the next accommodation) you can turn right down the slope and follow the path for 20 minutes which will take you to the Ahmica mountain hut where you can stay, and the next day return to the route the same way.
If you continue further or come from the side of the mountain hut you need to follow the road that stretches along the ridge line separating the two valleys and then at the same height to turn left and go to the last houses on the left side of the Shtedim lodges. Then follow the path that climbs and continues to the next higher saddle and then turn right through the low pine trees and continue to the next pass and the crossroads between the mountains and the Hajla pass. At this crossroads you can turn right and follow the marked path to the Mountain Lodge “Grope” or “Hajla Eco Katun” on the Montenegrin side of the Hajla mountain. In case you have spent the night on Shtedim you have an option of directly climbing the the Hajla ridge from the crossroads straight on the marked trail. Alternatively, you can continue the official route and the road that goes to the left side of the mountain and takes you to the Kosovo side where, after an hour to the sign, you will find a marked panoramic point and the intersection to Reka e Allages / Hokaj-Hajla, where there is the Via Dinarica info board. If you need accommodation go down from this point for an hour to the village of Reka e Allages/ Hokaj to the “Ariu” guesthouse (note that the next day you return the same path to the same point of the intersection, or from the intersection you can turn right uphill and follow the path to the “ERA HAJLA / Fatos Lajqi” mountain house.
