Velika Lelija
The road to the starting point near the village of Jelašca is extremely difficult and full of serpentines. Although it's a stretch of only 67 km from Sarajevo, it feels a lot longer. The road goes to Kalinovik, there's a marked fork for Lelija near Jažići and there's about 10 more minutes of macadam after Jelašca.
From the starting point on, the road goas through the forest most of the time, which makes this rout suitable for hot summer days. The gentle ascent makes the walk pleasant, as does the picking of brambles that grow along on the side of the road. As the altitude increases, the brambles disappear and are supplanted by raspberries, and finally blueberries.
There are two springs on the way to the summit. The first one is called Jablan vrelo, it has been tapped, and the other one is near the summit and is a lot smaller. Not far from the small spring you come out to a clearing which commands a wonderful view of all of Mt Zelengora. There are signposts there, one of which shows that there are only 20 minutes of ascent left to reach the peak. This is where the incline becomes steeper, so you might need to use your hands to climb here and there.
