Kozara was designated a National Park on 6 April 1967 to preserve and protect numerous monuments built to commemorate the Battles of Kozara Mountain, natural beauty and other landmarks of the area and to develop tourism by creating better conditions for vacation and relaxation. Kozara National Park lies in the heart of Mount Kozara, covering the area of 3.907,54 ha. The park area is 7km long north to south, and 3 – 6 km wide.

The archaeological remains from the ancient history (Benkovac, Gradina, Lukići), and the Middle Ages (the city of Maria Theresa and the upper city of Vrbaški, near Gornji Podgradci) testify to the time and people who inhabited the area of Kozara for centuries. The hunting ground is divided into four zones, three of which are free for hunting. The area is perfect for nature enthusiasts, with trim trails, hiking trails, ski slopes, accommodation, climbing sites, etc.

You will be charged an entrance fee to Kozara NP.
