Trtar – peak Krtolin
View: The view from Krtolin is similar to the view from Orlovača, and the key features in the surrounding landscape are the huge wind turbines of the wind power plant Trtar–Krtolin.
Seal: There is no seal on the peak; visitors should photograph themselves instead.
Getting there
Approach:- Mountain hut Ćićo – Orlovača – Krtolin 2 h
The best starting point for a climb to Trtar is the village of Rupići with the mountain hut Ćićo (220 m.a.s.l.), managed by members of the mountaineering society HPD Kamenar from Šibenik. The Zagreb – Split Motorway is in the immediate vicinity of the village and the mountain hut, and the motorway exit for Skradin and Šibenik is nearby. Mountain hut Ćićo is the last house in the village, and also the house at the highest elevation. There are several marked trails ascending from it to Trtar. The most popular route options are the route leading from the mountain hut to the right, across the pond, and the route that leads from the mountain hut to the left, across an observation post from the Homeland War called Oko sokolovo (Hawk Eye) and then further along the ridge to the Orlovača peak. From Orlovača, we can then continue hiking along the ridge for one hour to the Krtolin peak. However, one can also reach Krtolin along the route that leads from the mountain hut directly to the peak (i.e. not across Orlovača). Many well marked routes allow for pleasant loop tours beginning and ending in Rupići or elsewhere. The peak ridge of Trtar can also be reached by road, up to the quarry between Orlovača and Krtolin.
