From the starting point in Sarajeveo you walk up through the narrow streets of the old town. After a steep climb the path traverses Trebević mountain which means beatiful views on the canyon and the green hills you're surrounded with. It's a great escape from citylife, within less than half an hour you'll find yourself in a complete different world..

Author’s recommendation

Note that we had to make a little detour in the beginning because some dogs. Ideally you should be able to continue following the path.

There can be stray dogs in the beginning, close to the city.

Two bridges are a bit spooky, there is an unmarked path on the left of the first bridge and on the right of the second one that will lead you to the other side.

We loved this hike, although we sure had a hard time finding the trailhead. We took a picture of where the trail starts on Put Mladih Muslimana. There is a wide space in the road across from it where you can park. We didn't want to walk for an hour through town to get to the wilderness, so this is where we started. Look at the map on outdooractive.com website, drive along Put Mladih Musimana, and when you see the sign in the picture we've included here, pull over to the opposite side of the road and park.
