This trail leads from Jezero, which is located under the north-facing barrier of the Velež rock, below the top Botin (1.5 h). The trail first leads through the woods, straight towards the steep cliffs above us. Just below the rocks, the trail turns right, and leads everything below the rocks, to a location called Polom (1.5 h). At Polom we turn left and climb straight uphill, climbing over the hot karst area, occasionally helping each other with our hands, until we reach the edge of the rock, from where we will see the southern slopes of Velež (1 - 1.5 h). At the edge of the rock we turn left and on the south-oriented slopes we move towards the highest peak of Velež - Botin.

On the starting location (Jezero) there is a hunting lodge, with capacity of 10-15 persons, that is managed by Botin Forestry (Nevesinje municipality)

Safety information

On the road you should be careful when moving over the scrape. There are no mine dangers. It is also necessary to bring an all-day supply of water, as there are no permanent springs along the way.

Tips and hints

Important note: for the passability of the last 3 kilometers of macadam access to the Jezero location, it is necessary to contact the Botin Forestry, because there is a locked ramp on the road. An alternative is to cross this part on foot.
