The walk begins in the village of Umoljani, and you can park your car in front of the chalet-restaurant there. The village is famous for the Dragon of Umoljani, petrified on the cliff. The dragon moved towards the village, and the villagers prayed for divine protection. Their prayers were answered, and the dragon was turned to stone on the cliff above the village. This is how the village got the name Umoljani (supplicants). Now you can only see its silhouette on the cliff and the tracks it left as it approached the village by the bed of the Sudeni potok stream.

Cross the meadow to get to Gradina. Gradina offers a wonderful view of the ridge of Obalj, and the whole route we have to travel to reach our destination. At the very entrance to Crveni klanac the road to Obalj branches off to the left, and this is where the ascent begins. From the ridge you can make out the meandering stream of Studeni potok. Just as you start to descend from the top you can see Lukomir. Although it looks near from the top, it takes a while to reach it.

Lukomir is the only inhabited village in the region located above 1400 MASL. You can break for lunch there and rest. The way back to Umoljani iz along the canyon of the Rakitnica. The route is easy, there are no descends. The view of the Studeni potok stream when you get to the valley will improve your impressions.
