Beautiful landscapes and a breathtaking coastal panorama, as far as the eye can see – that’s what Adriatic Highway is all about. Formerly known as Yugoslav coastal street, it’s a pleasure for nature lovers and passionate drivers alike.  You’ll find picturesque seaside towns next to authentic fishing villages with a lot of history on their backs. Fascinating cities such as Biograd na Moru and Split have an exciting history to share. You’ll even get to see the massive Velebit mountain range right next to the highway. From there you can enjoy unique views of Adriatic coastline.

Adriatic Highway winds its way along the coastline for about 375 miles from Rijeka to Dubrovnik. Leading from Croatia to Montenegro, it covers even parts of Sloweniea and Bosnia. Over the years it has been restructured and extended, that‘s why there isn’t just one way to go. You can extend it as you like, according to your preferences and following your own rhythm.

But be careful: Adriatic Highway is pretty curvy, so mind the speed limit and drive carefully.

Author’s recommendation

If you want to get an extensive insight into the wide range of Croatia’s landscapes you should stop by Velebit Nature Park.

Safety information

In Croatia there might rise strong gusts of wind called “bora“. They’re used to rise from one moment to another and can even get as severe as a storm. That’s why you should drive carefully and inform yourself about the weather conditions at Adriatic coastline before departing.

Bitte unbedingt sofort Tempo anpassen!!!
