A great snowshoeing tour through dense coniferous forest and across large meadows. It goes across the Površje peak,  where you can enjoy in wonderful view over surroundings mountains, and then it descends through the small cottage settlments of Poljice and Semizova Ponikva to the city of Vareš.  

This tour is a part of a Via Dinarica Green Trail.

From the mountain hut the trail goes uphill through the forest in direction of the Medieval Royal City of Bobovac. After exiting forest you will enjoy in snowshoeing through a big meadows and very soon you will have the first view of,on the one side, mountain Zvijezda and, on the other, of mountain Vranica. From Površje peak there is breathtaking view over the surroudings mountains - Vlašić, Vranica, Čvrsnica, Prenj, Bjelašnica, Jahorina, Romanija and Zvijezda. Also, beneath the peak you will be able to see the Medieval Royal City of Bobovac

From Površje peak you are descending and you can see cottage settlment of Poljice. After passing Poljice the trail is descending through the dense forest and quite steep hill. Soon you will reach to the wide forest road that will lead you to the settlment of Semizova Ponikva. 

Finally the road is passing through abandoned quarry and soon afterwards a magnificient panorma view of Vareš will open in front of you. You will see Vareš tucked in the valley between the mounains of Zvijezda and Perun.

Make a bigger break at Površje Peak and enjoy in great panorama view! Bring sunscreen with you!

The path descending from Poljice through the forest is quite steep and there are fallen trees, so be careful!

Turn-by-turn directions

The path from Javorje mountain hut goes uphill through the forest in direction towards the Medieval Royal City of Bobovac.  After exiting the forest turn right across the meadows all the way to Površje Peak. From Površje Peak a descend to the Poljice settlement is visible. Just go straight ahead towards the cottages. After Poljice the path is quite steep and goes through the forest.Go straight ahead and you will descend to the forest road. The roads gets wider. Continue down the road. When you reach the small intersection of roads, continue right with the same road towards Semizova Ponikva  settlement. After Semizova Ponikva the roads goes through abandoned quarry and thorugh forest. After exiting forest turn left, and go down the asphalt road to Vareš city.
