Zečeva ledenjača

The cave consists of two halls which are connected by a corridor covered with scattered rocks that give the impression of «chaos blocks.» The upper hall is full of beautiful ice formations, and the lower hall is oval shaped and does not have ice formations. At the bottom of the second hall an ice sheet has formed, which is quite flat and resembles a small lake. In the upper hall, dripping and leachate water had formed ice stalagmite and stalactite. On the sloping sides of the cave and close to the snow exists some interesting fauna called Brachydesmus.

Earlier, it was famous for exploitation of ice, which (before beginning the production of artificial ice) was harvested and sold to hospitals, caterers and butchers in Sarajevo, and in the summer was also used for certain festivals in Sarajevo, Pale and Sokoce. The ice was 'read' by villagers Stajne, Rosulje, Podmjedenik and Bogovina, and especially family members Gluhović. Ice was cut with axes, wrapped in hay, places in sacks and loaded onto horses. Today, ice from this cave is no longer exploited.
