Cincar Mountain
Mount Cincar is the meeting point of different eco-climates - warm climate, experienced to the south, and a cold Alpine climate characterized by snowfall. From a geological point of view, Cincar is formed of carbonate rocks dating from the Paleozoic Era. This large karst massif is devoid of any surface streams. Water does not emerge to the surface before it reaches karst plains in the form of karst streams. One of them is the Šuica River rising near Donji Malovan.
Subalpine and Alpine grasslands covering the carbonate bedrock dominate the massif. They blanket vast areas with a high degree of biodiversity. This is also a home to many steno endemic communities, mainly senselia, bearberry, edelweiss, and others.
Kako stići do tamo?
There are marked hiking trails leading to Cincar mountain, including a mountain hut on the Krug plateau (1562 m); they can be reached by a macadam road from Livno and Glamoč. Further down the hut are marked hiking trails partly running next to mine fields and a bunker, so wandering off is dangerous. Krug Mountain can be accessed by car.Koordinate
