The central fortress Vrhbosna was Hodided old town (which is thought to be the present White bastion). White bastion is treated as a national monument of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and is listed as a national monuments by the State Commission for Preservation of National Monuments; decisions concerning its use are under the authority of the city of Sarajevo.
