Biking from Skopje via Durmitor to Mostar
A route for those who want or need asphalt, but don't like busy roads, who can do some climbing, but also appreciate flat stretches. For stories & trailnotes check out my website: EVAdinarica Project.
A super diverse ride through the mountains ánd the flat land. From long steep climbs to the entirely flat mainland. Rivers, fields, canyons, little villages and big towns. National and Nature Parks, epic road-trip-routes, monasteries, fortresses, monuments, churches, mosks, old mountain "high ways", old railway tracks, dusty dirt- and bumpy rural roads. This route takes you along the higher mountains without going offroad. Perhaps that there's an alternative for the busy road between Prizren and Peja and for sure in and around Durmitor (Montenegro) you can find more challenging routes, nevertheless I would most definitely recommend this route to anyone who'd like to bike the Balkans.
It´s easy to resupply, every slightly bigger town has several supermarkets, bakeries etc. and almost every little village has a mini shop or kiosk.
