Nahorevo-Barice

One of routes in the vicinity of Sarajevo can be reached by taking available public transport and it spans the areas of Nahorevo - Skakavac - Bukovik - Čavljak - Barice. It is a technically undemanding route which still covers more than 15 km. From Nahorevo you should take the path which leads to Skakavac Waterfall without running under it but rather along the stream of Skakavački Potok, ending at the edge of 98-meter cliff from which the water falls into chasm. This trail is not part of a regulated path and the access to the edge is not secured, so approaching the cliff is not advisable.

From the waterfall on, the forest trail leads to Bukovik. The marked path starts to the left near the spring and Bukovik is 2800 m away from there. Entire path is pleasantly shaded by a thick canopy at least until one reaches Bukovik where the forest ends.

During the season, the path from Bukovik to Barice leads through an area abundant in wild strawberries and wild cherries.
