Via Dinarica BH-W-12 Donje Bare via Suha and Prijevor to Trnovačko Lake

We hitched from our hotel (see prev post) to the parking at Suha, having got a lift from Donje Bare the next day, so can’t comment on the first 9km. Beautiful beautiful stage! Hike up to Prijevor is almost entirely in woodland on a really great, not overgrown path - so don’t worry about doing it in the heat of the day. Stunning views from Prijevor, you could camp there for sure but lots of vans in the car park. We continued to Trnovačko and camped there - great place although busy and bit noisy with lots of other people. We paid 12KM to the man for park entry and camping 2 people. Writes down your passport details but nothing more. People we getting food and beers, they’ve got quite a set up here! Water at both Prijevor and Trnovačko. Lake lovely for a swim!

Very good water source by the asphalt road at 7,5km. Many people stopped there to take water. Little wooden "house" next to it with table and bench. Kamp Suha is not an official campground, but a nice field with three wooden "houses" with tables and benches. You are next to the road and you hear all the traffic, but you're totally hided and it didn't even bothered me. I spent a nice night in my tent :) To come to that place you need to pass by the closed barrier gate. We paid 5€/pp to enter in n.p. Sutjeska. Next water source (constant running water) is on Prijevor, it's shown on the map. If you want to sleep in Prijevor hut, you need to take and return the key in Tjentište, so not useful. But you can pitch your tent by the huts (cows around) or by parking. We met a man that lives by Prijevor huts, he was really nice and friendy. You can buy cow's cheese at his place and he also has small wooden house, where you can sleep (on pictures). Trail to Trnovačko lake is really nice, guy by the camp checks your passports and you pay 1€ to enter n.p. Piva. There is constant running water. Cows all around, quite many tents by the lake.

The "shortcut" from Prijevor up to Maglic is really challenging, it's more a climb than a hike! ~3h in rainy and stormy conditions,haha. Like Lenka said in a previous comment some skills are very useful up there, especially when your solo. To descent from Maglic on this route with a big bag pack requires some suicidal tendencies. But the whole Park is just incredible, really old forests and great panoramic views.
